Juris Doctor Regulations 2024
1. Title and Commencement

- (1) These regulations are the Juris Doctor Regulations 2024.
- (2) These regulations shall come into force on 1 January 2026.
2. Professional Examinations in Law Regulations 2008 Amended

- (1) This regulation amends the Professional Examinations in Law Regulations 2008.
- (2) In regulation 1(3), definition of Qualification for Admission:
- (a) after “Bachelor of Laws”, delete “or”;
- (b) after “(” insert “or”; and
- (c) after “Honours) degree” insert “or Juris Doctor degree”.
- (3) In regulation 3(1)(a) after “Honours)” insert “or Juris Doctor”.
- (4) In regulation 8(1) after “Laws” insert “or Juris Doctor”.
- (5) In regulation 8(3)(a) after “Laws” insert “or Juris Doctor”.
- (6) In regulation 11(1) replace “law degree” with “LLB or Juris Doctor degree”
- (7) In regulation 11(2)(a):
- (a) delete the words “for the LLB”; and
- (b) after “component)” insert “or Juris Doctor degree”.
3. Professional Legal Studies Course Assessment and Standards Regulations 2002 Amended

- (1) This regulation amends the Professional Legal Studies Course Assessment and Standards Regulations 2002.
- (2) In regulation 1.1 replace “a law degree” with “an LLB or Juris Doctor degree”.
4. Professional Legal Studies Course Regulations 2004 Amended

- (1) This regulation amends the Professional Legal Studies Course Regulations 2004.
- (2) In regulation 3(2)(a) after the word “LLB” insert “or Juris Doctor degree”.
