NZ Law Degree

A candidate for admission as a barrister and solicitor in New Zealand must complete a prescribed law degree at a University in New Zealand or seek a determination from the Council for recognition of overseas qualifications and experience.

Professional Legal Studies Course

New Zealand degree holders and certain overseas degree holders must complete the Professional Legal Studies Course as a requirement for admission.

New Zealand Law and Practice Examinations

The Council requires many overseas applicants to pass all or a number of Parts of an examination on the law of New Zealand.
